This 420 sqft Prefab ADU had to be lifted right over the roof to reach a backyard with almost no side-yard access, so in came a 70-ton crane to do the job safely. The unit was built off-site by Leisure Suites and arrived 95% complete, which meant the backyard "construction" was really just one day of watching a crane do its thing — not months of contractors coming and going. It's a good look at how much smoother an ADU build can be when most of the work happens somewhere else first.

Multi-generational Living
The homeowners built this ADU to provide a safe and dignified living space for parents who were previously living farther away. By creating a detached, self-contained unit on their property, the family achieved a balance of proximity and privacy, enabling the parent to maintain their independence while remaining close to their children and grandchildren for daily support. Beyond the personal benefits of multi-generational living, the project also benefited from the financial incentive program provided by the municipality.

Delivery Day: All Eyes on the Sky
Neighbors, family, and the crew all paused what they were doing to watch this one unfold — it's not every day you see a house fly over a roof. The excitement on everyone's faces says it all: equal parts nerves and awe as the crane guided the ADU safely into the backyard.
