Navigating a Winter Installation
This project came with a unique set of challenges. The homeowners needed the unit ready before the spring, so installation had to happen in the middle of winter. Using our property map tool, we quickly confirmed which models were compatible with zoning and space constraints. Once we locked in feasibility, we moved fast to keep everything on track.
Choosing the Right Fit: An Eden Model
After exploring a few options, the homeowners fell in love with an Eden Dwellings prefab model. It offered smart dimensions for their lot and great natural light, with minimal customizations needed. The clean lines and Scandinavian-inspired layout sealed the deal. We submitted for permits right away — and received approval in just 3 weeks thanks to a complete, ready-to-go package.
While Eden’s team got to work at their Ontario-based production facility (capable of building up to 20 units at once), we coordinated the site work in Brantford. That included foundation prep, trenching for plumbing and electrical lines, and making sure everything would be ready for a seamless install — even in sub-zero temperatures.
Installation Day and the Final Details
Once the unit arrived, installation was smooth and fast — set and secured in a single day. Over the next few days, final hookups and interior touches were completed. By the end of the week, the space was warm, fully functional, and ready to welcome guests. A true plug-and-play home, delivered in just 5 months.
